SCJS ANNUAL BENEFIT THIS SUNDAY (MARCH 8):
DON SCALETTA & THE JAZZ PROJECT IN 'TRIBUTE TO STAN KENTON'
Don't miss the 2009 Space Coast Jazz Society’s Annual benefit. It's "A Tribute to Stan Kenton,” the musical genius whom Frank Sinatra called “the most significant jazz figure of the modern age.”
Don Scaletta and the Jazz Project, a 20-piece Florida-based orchestra that has been widely praised for its mastery of the Kenton sound, will perform the tribute starting at 2 PM Sunday in the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel on Rte. A1A just south of Rte. 520 in Cocoa Beach. Jack Simpson will emcee.
Tickets are $25 and will be on sale at the door. To reserve in advance, call Pat Aiken at 777-3494 or Peggy Heaslett at 253-4522. All proceeds go the SCJS Scholarship and Outreach Fund. Free hors d'oeuvres. Come, and get a friend or neighbor to come with you. .
