Melbourne Auditorium
625 E. Hibiscus Blvd,
Melbourne, FL 32901
FREE CONCERTS
Join the 3-2-1 Jazz Orchestra as it presents a musical mission of spy games and undercover capers with “Jazz, Lies and Alibis” on Jan. 14 and 15 at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd., Melbourne, FL 32901. The concerts are free. Start time is 7 p.m. and doors open at 6 p.m. Pre-show entertainment will be provided by the Oh Golly Dixieland Band.
“We’re talking secret agents, sneaky blues, finger-snapping chase scenes and music smooth enough to fool a polygraph,” said Kurt Schulenburg, 3-2-1 Jazz Orchestra director. “Grab your shades and your best alibi – it’s time to go undercover in style.”
Vocalist Krystal Clarke will be featured on two newly crafted arrangements by guitarist Phil Coe – If You Really Love Me and I’m Too Busy. Dave Hutson will sing the Sinatra-standard Please Don’t Talk About Me When I’m Gone, and another selection to be announced. The two vocalists will join for the Gershwin standard They Can’t Take That Away From Me.
Three of the evening’s selections are originals written for the show by Schulenburg. “I've got two tunes for secret-agent types – Criminal Caper and Dead Drop Dash – and Three Bass Hit, featuring all of the bass instruments.”
3-2-1 concerts feature a Concert Cafe seating section, featuring both theater seating along with cafe-style tables. Food and alcoholic beverages are available for purchase on site from City Bistro.
