World renowned violinist, Damien Escobar returns to the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre! On top of being a world renowned violinist, Damian is also an author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, hailing from Jamaica, Queens, New York. His musical career spans over a decade, and his inspiring journey of making it big, losing it all, fighting to rebuild, and getting a second chance at success is as much apart of his brand identity than being among the top violinist in the world.

Escobar, a two-time Emmy Award-winning violinist has carved a distinctive path in the music world by blending classical violin with genres like jazz, R&B, pop, and hip-hop. A Juilliard graduate at just 13, he first gained prominence with his brother in the duo Nuttin’ But Stringz, achieving third place on "America’s Got Talent" in 2008 and performing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009. Following the group's dissolution, Escobar faced personal challenges, including homelessness, but made a notable return to music as a solo artist. His solo career features Billboard-charting albums such as "Sensual Melodies" and "Boundless," the latter earning a 2018 NAACP Image Award nomination for Outstanding Jazz Album. Beyond music, Escobar is an entrepreneur and philanthropist, founding the Violins Against Violence foundation and launching initiatives like The Gloria Gail Gallery to support arts access for underserved communities. His multifaceted career reflects a commitment to artistic innovation and social impact.

The Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, located in downtown Clearwater’s Cleveland Street District, was constructed in 1921 and is one of Florida’s oldest operating theaters. In 2023, industry trade publication Pollstar named the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre the #1 club venue in Tampa, #1 in Florida, #1 in the United States and #1 in the world, of club venues with 800 seats or less. In 2013, the theater underwent a complete $10 million renovation and is the catalyst for downtown development. In 2019, Nancy and David Bilheimer donated $2.5 million to Ruth Eckerd hall as part of the theatre’s ongoing “Expanding the Experience” Capital campaign.  In recognition of the generous donation, the Capitol Theatre’s name was changed to the Nancy and David Bilheimer Capitol Theatre.
