Meet Yates McKendree
Born in Nashville and raised in a recording studio, Yates McKendree is a self-taught, multi-instrumental prodigy who started playing music at just three years old. Growing up surrounded by legendary musicians, he developed his craft and love for the blues from an early age.
During his high school years, Yates engineered and performed on numerous recording projects, including collaborations with Delbert McClinton and John Hiatt. Delbert McClinton once told Rolling Stone Magazine: “Yates was our secret ingredient.”
In January 2020, Yates’s extraordinary talent earned him a Grammy™ Award for his contributions as an engineer and musician on McClinton’s Tall Dark & Handsome.
Florida welcomes Yates back after his very succesful corner-to-corner debut Florida tour in April 2024, that created a solid fan-base to support this upcoming 2025 tour.
A Rising Star in the Blues World
Yates’s debut LP, “Buchanan Lane”, was released on October 28, 2022, by Qualified Records to widespread critical acclaim. The album features a mix of blues classics and four original compositions, two of which he co-wrote with Gary Nicholson, a Nashville Songwriter Hall of Fame inductee and multi-Grammy winner. Produced alongside his father, Kevin McKendree, the album showcases Yates’s remarkable skill as a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist, with a special emphasis on his guitar work.
