Since its founding in 1986 by Jack Simpson, renowned for Jazz on the Beach, and Alan Simms, the Space Coast Jazz Society (SCJS) has been a cornerstone of the jazz scene on Florida's Space Coast. Driven by passionate members and a dedicated Board of Directors, SCJS continues to celebrate and preserve the rich legacy of jazz in the community. This season, their concert series highlights top-tier regional talent and underscores the power of community support, with performances in an inviting venue that offers excellent jazz experiences—accessible in timing, location, and cost.

Robert Navarro Quartet

Robert Navarro is a seasoned New York City performer with over 25 years of experience as a pianist, teacher, arranger, and producer. Born in New York City, he earned a BFA in Music from City College and a master’s degree from NYU. He honed his jazz piano skills under Jackie Byrd while developing expertise in arranging and production.
In 1982, Navarro formed Grupo Fascinacion and went on to produce and arrange for Charanga America and Dominican artist Santiago Ceron. He also co-produced a project for The Ballet Hispanico Puertorriqueno with legendary bandleader Eddie Palmieri. In 2007, his arrangement for Bobby Cruz earned him a Grammy Award.
Navarro has toured with iconic artists such as Celia Cruz, Ray Barreto, and Frankie Ruiz. Now based in Port St. Lucie, he continues to compose, produce, and teach guitar, piano, violin, and music technology.
$30 for members of the Jazz Society and Veterans Memorial Center, $35 for guests and students are free. A complimentary glass of wine is included!
