Trader's Tiki on the River

An Wisco-Summer-Perfect day down by the river, complete with music to match. I don't know how long this place has been here and I've been stopping in at their bar/restaurant on the highway for decades though never made it out here to river. Really didn't know what to expect and as long as Paul was playing there I was going regardless.

Tiki bar(s), picnic tables, cook tent right on the river with plenty of well-spaced camping/RVing places in the compound. Nice roads, too!

Arrived in time to check the place out and say HI to Paul and had to leave early do to another commitment. Last week when I went to see the band I caught the later sets and this week most of the first. The first set is Paul's real Chicago firery stuff, with gems pulled from his 40? year recording history, like Midnight at the Nirobi Room, studio release from album of the same name in 2001 and again LIVE in 2015 on the Roughneck Blues release. Bright sunlight with a nice breeze off the big river in the open space under the ancient trees is a LOT different than where Westside Chicago Blues comes from! And a MUST acknowledgement to the Apollo Kings - it takes mighty players to stand up there and be heard/contribute when Paul is tearin' it up!
