*CANCELLED DUE TO COVID* Miami Jazz Cooperative Returns to In-person Performance January 16, 2022 with Live From EMMET'S PLACE

"Miami Jazz Cooperative
January 4, 2022

The Miami Jazz Cooperative is disappointed to announce the cancellation of the January 16 event, Live at Emmet’s Place, In-Person at the Miami Jazz Cooperative. This incredible event was conceived to draw upon the international jazz musicians who were scheduled to come to Miami to sail on the 2022 Jazz Cruise on January 17.   We always knew that, if the Jazz Cruise was canceled, our January 16 event would also have to be canceled.  Regrettably (but not surprisingly), the producers of the Jazz Cruise announced today that their entire 2022 schedule of cruises was being canceled as a result of the new COVID spike.

The process of refunding all tickets purchased for the MJC event is beginning tonight.

We are grateful to all of the people and organizations who collaborated to make our January 16 event possible and exciting: the musicians, particularly our artistic director, Emmet Cohen, our co-producers, Michael Ragan Productions and Coral Gables Magazine, and the Thesis Hotel, our host venue.

While we are disappointed, we are not discouraged.  The planning for a similar exciting event before the 2023 Jazz Cruise is underway.  We are ever hopeful that, next January, the world will be at a point where gatherings of people for jazz and other events are safe for all.

Best wishes for a happy and safe 2022.
