Grammy nominee, legendary percussionist, and radio personality
Sammy Figueroa has long been regarded as one of the world’s
great musicians. His band Jazz Explosion, sometimes referred to as
“the Latin Yellowjackets,” is considered to be one of the most
sophisticated examples of Latin jazz, combining the excitement
of Latin rhythms with the beauty and precision of a
Pat Metheny or Brad Mehldau.

The South Miami-Dade Cultural
Arts Center is managed by the Miami-Dade County
Department of Cultural Affairs, with funding support from the Office of the
Miami-Dade County Mayor and Board of County Commissioners. The Center
is dedicated to presenting and supporting arts and culture and providing access
