4th Annual Women in Blues Showcase in Gainesville May 21, 2017

is not a bad thing!

Presents
WOMEN IN BLUES

Share the day celebrating the Blues and the important role female performers have played, do play, and will play in keeping the music vibrant. Many of the area's top female performers will participate and will be joined by some from outside the Gainesville area. Check out this lineup: Michelle Banfield, Cindy Bear, Nora Gauck, Cassie Keenum, Bridget Kelly, Christine Leiser, Anna Marie, Barbara Paul, Yolanda Raftice, Kellie Rucker, Deby Starr, and Nicole Wagner. A very impressive group of Blueswomen! Show starts at 7 pm. There is no cover charge, but the NCFBS will be taking donations for the performers.

Sue Foley Band!

 The North Central Florida Blues Society is proud to announce that they are bringing the Sue Foley Band to Gainesville Sunday, June 25, 2017, to play the High Dive.

 Sue Foley, originally from Canada, is one of the finer performers of Texas Blues today, having recorded for Antone’s—the esteemed blues record label and historic nightclub that helped launch the career of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Her new release The Ice Queen comes out this year and includes performances from Chris ‘Whipper’ Layton, Billy Gibbons (ZZ Top) and Jimmie Vaughan, just to give you an idea of the league Foley is in. See why All About Jazz said “Sue Foley has really come into her own. This is another fine release from one of the blues’ leading female artists.” 

 This is not to be missed! 

 The NCFBS's own Big Time Juke & the Joints will open the show.

 Admission is $15 for General Admission, $8 for NCFBS members, and $5 for Students w/ID.
