JazzSLAM project - Give now to teach kids academics through jazz in the Broward community!

JazzSLAM -
a FUN, INTERACTIVE program that teaches
Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Critical
Thinking and Test Taking Strategies

The future of jazz needs your support of the JazzSLAM  (Jazz Supports Language Arts and Math) program developed by South Florida music educator and jazz musician Mari Mennel-Bell. This popular jazz education program has been presented to over 100,000 students over the past 10 years.   The impact of Mari's program has gained national recognition and she will be attending the JEN (Jazz Education Network) conference in San Diego in January 2015 as a presenter!

This coming school year, JazzSLAM will be hitting the road again at area elementary schools beginning in September!   Please consider supporting this unique program that takes a jazz quartet directly to 4th and 5th graders in local elementary schools to teach important academic and study skills through jazz.  It's fun AND educational!

This request is under the auspices of the Gold Coast Jazz Society and is in response to the offer of a Challenge Grant and there are only a couple weeks remaining to raise the balance of $5,000 to maximize the benefit of the offer. The challenge finishes on July 29, 2014 and your donation will be matched $1 for $1 by Power2Give and the BBX Capital Foundation.   Help the children of today and the jazz audience of tomorrow by clicking on this LINK: http://www.power2give.org/Broward/Project/Detail?projectId=8275
