Solo Virtuoso Acoustic Guitarist
Leo Kottke in Concert March 20 at the Colony Theatre

(MIAMI, FL – February 15, 2010) Tigertail continues its 30th Anniversary Season with Leo Kottke, March 20, 2010 at the Colony Theatre. Leo Kottke is considered by many to be one of the greatest and most influential acoustic guitar players of the past forty years. Widely known for his innovative fingerpicking style, Kottke has the ability to embrace folk and pop melodies as readily as he assimilates jazz, blues, and classical influences into his music.. For all his technical brilliance and harmonic sophistication, Kottke's music is eminently accessible. In concert, Kottke intersperses humorous monologues with vocal and instrumental selections from throughout his career.

"Mr. Kottke is like the definition of an artist of the 18th-century Enlightenment, a paragon of formal excellence... a musician whose remarkable facility remains as strong, if not more so, as in his first recordings 40 years ago." — The New York Times

This one-night only concert is presented by the non-profit Tigertail Productions, a South Florida leader in innovative cultural work. "I have listened to the music of Leo Kottke for years. It is a special pleasure to be able to present him this season," said Tigertail Executive Director Mary Luft.
