With over 27 solo recordings and three Grammy Awards to his credit, Tom Scott is a talented saxophonist, a noted composer, arranger, producer and musical director; having penned theme songs for Starsky and Hutch, The Streets of San Francisco, Family Ties, the Carol Burnett Show, Ba¬retta, Barnaby Jones, the Academy Awards and the Emmy Awards. His film scores include Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, Stir Crazy, and Uptown Saturday Night. He’s received much acclaim as a player and ar¬ranger on the movie soundtracks Taxi Driver, Bladerunner, Heaven Can Wait, and Who Framed Roger Rab¬bit? and has directed, played and/or arranged for diverse artists including Joni Mitchell, George Harrison, Olivia Newton-John, the GRP All-Star Big Band, Steely Dan, Carole King, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, the Captain & Tenille and Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Quincy Jones, Thelonious Monk, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin and Elton John, Scott currently heads The L.A. Express, a popular West Coast jazz fusion ensemble.
