Since its inception in 2015, Nu Deco Ensemble has become an important part of Miami’s musical scene, engaging the community and presenting genre-expanding orchestral performances and collaborations. Created by two of classical music’s in-demand artists, Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken, Nu Deco Ensemble is a flexible hybrid orchestra that celebrates living composers, reimagines music across genres, and collaborates with diverse musical guests, composers, choreographers, dancers, and mixed-media artists.

About Co-Founders of Nu Deco Ensemble

Jacomo Bairos
Portuguese-American conductor and producer Jacomo Bairos is Co-Founder and Artistic Director of Nu Deco Ensemble, known for reimagining orchestral music through genre-blending collaborations and community-focused programming. A graduate of The Juilliard School and Peabody Institute, Bairos has performed worldwide with top ensembles and also integrates mindfulness and wellness practices into Nu Deco’s educational initiatives.
