The mysterious and secretive music of espionage takes center stage when the 3-2-1 Jazz Orchestra presents “Undercover Blues” on July 16 and 17, 2025 at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E. Hibiscus Blvd. Start time is 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m.
“This evening of mysterious music is brought to you in complete secrecy by the trench-coated agents of the 3-2-1 Jazz Orchestra,” said Kurt Schulenburg, conductor. “Get ready to slink, sneak and slip into cloak-and-dagger ditties and secretive swing as you experience the thrilling sounds of spies from movies and TV.”
Vocalists Krystal Clarke and Dave Hutson will accompany the band. Scott Martin is featured on alto sax playing a Duke Ellington standard "Chelsea Bridge,” and the trombone section is featured in the beautiful Johnny Mandel ballad, "A Time For Love.”
“Operation Nightfall” is a special chart written by Schulenburg just for this performance. Also, band members Phil Coe, Anthony Agatiello and Schulenburg arranged some of the Undercover Tunes in the second half of the concert.
Swingtime concerts feature a Concert Cafe seating section, which enables the audience to dance if they wish. Food and alcoholic beverages may not be brought into the auditorium by the public but are available for purchase on site from City Bistro.
