The Blues are the roots of African American music today. On The Patio, a bi-monthly series, features local and regional Blues artists. This series  provides a network of association for area Blues lovers and build upon the Blues Education program by encouraging youth participation. Admission is FREE! 

Join the community for an unforgettable evening with Beautiful Bobby Blackmon, a talented Florida Blues artist, on August 25, 2024 at the A. Quinn Jones Museum and Cultural Center. The show runs from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, and best of all, there's no admission charge!

Beautiful Bobby Blackmon is a masterful Bluesman, known for his innovative guitar work and captivating performances. With a voice as warm and soulful as a summer breeze, Bobby brings the Blues to life, whether he’s playing smooth, sultry rhythms or electrifying, high-energy tunes. His ability to seamlessly shift between different styles within the Blues genre is truly remarkable, showcasing the rich diversity of the music.

As a proud Florida Blues artist, Bobby’s quick wit and engaging stage presence make every performance a unique experience, connecting with the audience through his sharp commentary and dynamic delivery. Don’t miss this chance to see a true Blues virtuoso in action!

The A. Quinn Jones Museum & Cultural Center, housed in the former Jones Family home at 1013 NW 7th Avenue in Gainesville, Serves as a tribute to one of the most influential educators in the history of Alachua County. The Museum features a permanent exhibit on “Prof” Jones, the people and places of the Fifth Avenue/Pleasant Street neighborhood, and houses a collection of oral histories centering on the African-American experience in Gainesville.
