The Tampa Jazz Club is proud to begin a new concert season at HCC/Ybor City with PAUL GAVIN & MOSAIC, a dynamic sextet paying tribute to the quintessential band of the Hard Bop era, Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. The concert, on Sunday, August 27 at 3:00 p.m., is part of the HCC Visual & Performing Arts Series.  Over more than three decades, The Jazz Messengers served as a launching pad for the careers of countless great jazz artists. And for Mosaic, drummer Paul Gavin has chosen a stellar group of Florida’s finest players, who are favorites of Tampa Jazz Club audiences.

Mosaic is one of four jazz repertory ensembles of which Paul Gavin is Artistic Director, based in the Bay Area, Fort Myers, and Lake Wales. And since his USF graduation in 2015, Paul is also in demand as a thoughtful and energetic educator and clinician to aspiring artists.
