The Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center invites you to a Night Of Jazz At The J with a special performance of soulful authentic Bossa Nova by the ROSE MAX & RAMATIS QUARTET.

Rose Max & Ramatis Quartet is a versatile group that performs various styles of Brazilian music, including jazz, MPB, choro, and samba. They have performed at numerous clubs, theaters, and jazz festivals in the US and internationally. Their set list includes well-loved Brazilian classics, and they were featured guests on the CD "Bossa Nova Sinfónico," which earned a Latin Grammy nomination and won the Brazilian International Press Award for Best CD of Brazilian Music.

Rose Max is a Brazilian singer and great-granddaughter of conductor Cupertino de Menezes and granddaughter of guitar player Manuel de Menezes. She started her career singing with the Octeto Rio Orchestra in Rio de Janeiro and studied vocal technique, musical theory, and ear training. She has won the prestigious Brazilian International Press Award seven times and has recorded four solo CDs.

Ramatis Moraes is a Brazilian guitarist/bassist and has performed with many famous Brazilian musicians. He studied music at the Estácio de Sá University and with Maestro Aristides Santos. He has been living in Miami for the past 24 years, playing various genres of Brazilian music.
