In keeping with Faena’s commitment to delivering unparalleled event offerings and experiences, once again jazz lovers from South Florida and beyond are invited to enjoy the sounds of great jazz at the intimate and glamorous Faena Theater at Faena Hotel Miami Beach.

On May 10, 2023 the Jazz Series at the Faena Theater and its Grammy-nominated producer, Rachel Faro, are pleased to present the dynamic singer and songwriter Shayna Steele, presenting the music from her just-released fourth album Gold Dust (RopeaDope Records).

Shayna’s blockbuster vocals have been featured on recordings with leading artists such as Moby and trumpeter Chris Botti.  Her accomplished vocals have led to background work with Bette Midler, Rihanna and Kelly Clarkson as well as appearances as a soloist with some of the biggest symphonies throughout North America. Collaborations with Michael League of multiple Grammy Winners Snarky Puppy resulted in Shayna's original track, "Gone Under", from their hit album, Family Dinner Volume 1, becoming a viral sensation with over 2 million YouTube views.

No stranger to both the theatrical stage and the small and silver screens, Shayna has appeared on Broadway in Rent and Hairspray and on the soundtracks for Bourne Identity, and Sex and the City 2, as well as making a guest appearance on The Sopranos.

Striking out on her own as a solo artist, Shayna brings considerable talent and creativity to her own albums, with a heady mix of jazz, r & b, folk and soul. Her current album, Gold Dust, arose from insights and studies generated during the pandemic and the George Floyd protests.  Gold Dust’s lead single, The Bloodline, pays homage to the ancestors, living as a black person in this modern world and how we can ‘hold onto our joy’ during these turbulent times.
