International Jazz Month is April and in honor of this UNESCO-sponsored extravaganza, with the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, the Sunshine Jazz Organization will once again participate with a very special presentation by "Ginetta's Vendetta" on Friday, April 7, 2023 in the Black Box Theater.
"Ginetta M." (Featured in the April issue of Jazz & Blues Florida) is a "Triple threat Female powerhouse" from NYC who plays pocket trumpet, sings & composes while leading her acclaimed Jazz combo featuring pianist Gianni Bianchinni, bassist Paul Shewchuk and Raul Valdez on drums. Her most recent 2022 Ambassador tour through the central Asian country of Uzbekistan was a massive success! They headlined the opening night of The International Jazz Day celebration at The 6th Annual International Jazz Festival of Uzbekistan and toured the country giving workshops, visiting disabled youth centers, entertaining and inspiring young musicians. While teaching audiences around the globe from Moscow to Jakarta, Paris, Beirut, Jamaica, California, Canada, Mexico, Miami and all points in between, Ginetta M. continues her musical ministry as a Jazz Ambassador, calling Jazz "America's Greatest Export". Don't miss this high energy Jazz special presentation!
Be sure to reserve your tickets in advance at the theater's online or onsite box offices. The concert is presented in The Sandrell Rivers Black Box Theater, with excellent sound, lights and sights. Seating is on a first come basis. The theater offers free covered garage parking with security, and a cash bar in the Lobby.
SJO programming is presented with support of the
Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs and
