A rather short trip. Out of the house at 1:06pm mountain time, and at the bar at Rum Boogie Café on Beale Street at 8:02pm central time. Not bad at all. Canada is already represented in the house - Pat Monahan is here making notes for his Buckslide Blues Cruise radio/streaming show on CanoeFM out of Haliburton, Ontario.
Friends and known suspects already in attendance are enjoying the time to engage and catch up with each other prior to the deluge to follow for the rest of the week. Relax a bit. Enjoy the music with less competition for space. Have a bite, enjoy some cake and a hearty round of HAPPY BIRTHDAY in honor of Tas Cru making another spin 'round. The good stuff!
Ready to hit the bricks hard in a couple hours. Apologies for 'losing' the best vid of the night w/ Tas and Trey Wanvig going on down to guitar town for some guitar time. Didn't know that LIVE to Instagram doesn't save. Now I know.
A special moment, because we are a community, was noted by Mick Kolassa when he gave a nod to the dearly missed Ken Johnson who will only be attending in spirit this year.
See you on Beale at 6pm for Tas Cru's annual Generation Blues Benefit Jam.
