SJO’s Monthly Concert Series heads into this new 2020 decade with more of the best of South Florida’s talented music community. We are very happy to kick off the new year by introducing our members and friends to one of the best young Jazz groups on the scene ~ The Apostolo Jazz Co-op. The ensemble is led by the sensational team of upright bassist Senegal Apostolo and Jazz pianist/vocalist Nicole Apostolo. 

A dynamic collaboration of young, talented musicians, The Apostolo Jazz Co-op is firmly rooted in the All-American tradition of swing. The unique band draws influence from the multicultural origins of its members, resulting in a unique sound that provides a thrilling and dynamic auditory experience. The Quintet is comprised of Nicole - vocals, Senegal - bass, Vaughn Henry - piano, AJ Lopez – guitar and Harvel Nakundi – drums. They swing in the style of older generations, pulling influences from Jazz greats such as Duke Ellington, Miles Davis and Ella Fitzgerald. This innovative group seeks to redefine the Jazz small group into an ensemble that brings new energy and ideas while remaining true to the spirit of Swing.
