Due to unforeseen weather conditions the 2016 Amelia Island Jazz Festival
has been postponed and will take place November 2 to 6. All tickets that were purchased for the October events will be honored at the November events.

SWINGING AND STAR-STUDDED

It’s time to plan for the 13^th Annual Amelia Island Jazz Festival (AIJF) created by legendary jazz drummer Les DeMerle and vocalist/wife Bonnie Eisele! As in past years, the multi-venue weeklong event (Noveber 2-6, 2016) is taking place at some of the most vibrant locations on Amelia Island and Fernandina Beach.

World renowned tenor saxophonist Houston Person and young, hot trumpeter Bria Skonberg are headlining this year’s musical events, announced by AIJF Artistic Director DeMerle.  With dozens of albums to his credit, Person has recorded for many labels including Savoy, Mercury, Prestige, Muse and currently High Note Records. His soulful, bluesy and thick-toned tenor style is in the tradition of the great Gene Ammons.

Newcomer to Amelia Island Jazz Festival, Skonberg ~ a trumpeter, vocalist and composer, has rapidly become a top-draw in New York City. According to the Wall Street Journal “...is poised to be one of the most versatile and imposing musicians of her generation”.
