Joe Louis Walker headlines 10th Annual Red, White & The Blues for Polk Museum of Art Oct 21, 2011

Polk Museum of Art Announces
Musical Lineup for
10th Annual
Red, White & The Blues
Polk Museum of Art proudly welcomes veteran American bluesman
as the headliner of its 10th Annual Red, White & The Blues
from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21.

Red, White & The Blues is an annual event that is part wine tasting and
part fantastic blues concert. Craft beers also will be served at the event.

Walker, who grew up in the San Francisco Bay area and has played with musicians
as diverse as B.B. King, Thelonius Monk and Jimi Hendrix, has released 22 albums
in only 26 years. His 2009 album, Between a Rock and the Blues, won the
Blues Music Awards’ Album of the Year. Also performing during the evening will
be Tampa Bay blues artist Selwyn Birchwood.

Tickets are on sale at Polk Museum of Art for $75 per person.
Attendees must be 21 years old.

Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, Florida, is a private, not-for-profit organization
dedicated to promoting the arts in Central Florida. The Museum is one of the Top 10
art museums in the State of Florida, an Affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and the
only art museum accredited by the American Association of Museums serving the 561,000
residents of Polk County. Museum hours are 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Tuesdays –
Saturdays; 1 – 5 p.m. Sundays; and closed Mondays and major holidays.
Admission is free for Museum members. General admission is $5 for adults and
$4 for seniors (62 and older). Children and students with student IDs are admitted for free.
Special exhibition fees may apply. Admission is free to all from 10 a.m. until noon
Saturday mornings. The Museum is fully accessible.
