Hey Blues People - What's up?
Hey Blues People - What's up?
You serious Blues lovers who want to take a little hard-earned vacation in these tough economic times should look no further than the Daytona Blues Festival. With a little cooperation from some of the nicest hotels in Daytona (and some arm-twisting on my part - but not really) -- all within four miles of Jackie Robinson Stadium - we were able to score some great deals that are good until June first. But after that, these cool hotel deals will be over and those tickets will go online. So this would be a very good time to make those plans to visit Daytona Beach at the nicest time of the year!
Also -- we are having a FREE Open Jam / Pre-Festival Party on Thursday night at Stingray's Sports Saloon for you early arrivals. You know that after-party jams always have surprises, so think "Pre-Festival Jam"..... hmmmmm?!?!?
And not to repeat myself . . . we only have until June first, and these hotels have only so many rooms available - this is really a first-come / first-serve basis. Everything you need to know is on our Web site on the Local Links page.
The most economical deals come from theRamada Inn on International Speedway Boulevard. Don't think you are getting short-changed on this hotel, because it consistently wins awards as the nicest Ramada Inn in Florida. It isn't on the beach, which explains the lower cost, but they have a staff who work really hard to please their guests. These rates include two three-day Festival passes in the package.
Check these deals - this is the most inexpensive festival package that can be found!
2 nights / 2 passes for $229
3 nights / 2 passes for $249
4 nights / 2 passes for $269
Wow! For reservations, call (386) 255-2422. Operators are standing by, y'all.
Let's start with the Inn on the Beach which has just been renovated and purchased by the Holiday Inn Corporation. The rates are excellent for an Oceanside hotel and resort.
2 nights and 2 passes for $297.74
3 nights and 2 passes for $386.61
4 nights and 2 passes for just $475.48
WOW! For reservations, call (386) 255-0921.
Our next hotel/resort is the hidden gem of the Daytona area.
The Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center is referred by locals as the DBR. They are offering a package of 3 nights and 2 passes from $427.12.
Ask for their reservation code (BLUE); their phone number is (800) 654-6216.
An addition to this year's lineup of supporting hotels is the Holiday Inn Suites, Oceanfront. They are also offering great deals!
2 nights / 2 passes for $320.25
3 nights / 2 passes for $420.384 nights / 2 passes for $520.50.
Their reservation desk is (386) 255-5494.
And our last - but definitely not the least - hotel is The Plaza Resort and Spa, which is offering Blues Fans a great deal for only at $109 per night.
The Plaza Ocean Club Hotel is offering rooms for $79 per night, and both hotels use the same reservation code -- BLUES.
In this tough economy we hope these package deals will get all of us music lovers on an inexpensive, fun-filled, musical vacation right here in Daytona Beach -- for the best in Blues at the nicest time of the year!
