AWARD-WINNING BLUESMAN MIKE ZITO PLAYS GAINESVILLE FLORIDA ON OCTOBER 10, 2010
The North Central Florida Blues Society (NCFBS) proudly announces that Mike Zito will perform in Gainesville on October 10th at Common Grounds. Opening act is the R. Mutt Blues Band, who will start at 7pm, with Zito going on at around 8pm.
Zito, born in St. Louis and currently making Nederland, TX his home, won the Blues Music Award (BMA) for best song of 2009 for Pearl River, the title track from his most recent album. His guitar playing has been compared to both Tab Benoit and Stevie Ray Vaughan, and his gutsy, soulful singing to Steve Winwood. His love of the blues is clear, but he also performs in various styles, including Cajun, soul, funk, and rock.
Admission to the show is $12 for general public, $8 for NCFBS members and $5 for students.
The NCFBS is a not-for-profit organization organized to preserve, cultivate, nurture and promote the blues in the Gainesville area.
