Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Danny Sinoff began private classical piano lessons at the young age of four years old. When he was eleven, he moved with his family to Naples, FL, and continued his classical studies, going on to win local and regional piano competitions and later getting his first gig at the age of 13. After spending some time at Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 2000, Danny returned to Southwest Florida and began gigging full time in the region, most notably leading a group with the late great trumpeter Dan Miller (Harry Connick Jr., Wynton Marsalis, Tom Jones and Woody Herman) at Ellington’s Jazz Club on Sanibel Island and fully establishing himself as a singer, pianist and strong trio and quartet leader in the SWFL jazz scene.

Danny has performed and recorded with David “Fathead” Newman (Ray Charles), The Brubeck Brothers, Jimmy McGriff, Russell Hall, Kyle Poole, Sweet Georgia Brown, Martina DaSilva, Deborah Bowman, Russell Malone, Paul Bollenback, Joe Farnsworth, Herlin Riley, Akiko Tsuruga, Joe Magnarelli, Hubert Laws, Harry Connick Jr., bassists Ben Wolfe, Neal Caine and tenor saxophonist Jerry Weldon. Danny has also shared the stage many a night with the great tenor saxophonist Lew Del Gatto, a 30-year veteran of NBC’s Saturday Night Live band, along with being a studio recording artist for Johnny Winter!

New Jazz Underground is a trio composed of three Juilliard School Alumni in Jazz at Lincoln Center’s inner circle of young artists who have worked closely with jazz masters ranging from Wynton Marsalis, Victor Lewis and ELEW.  The trio featuring Abdias Armenteros - saxophone, Sebastian Rios - bass, and TJ Reddick - drums, met while they were students at the prestigious Juilliard School. However, it wasn’t until the Summer of 2020 when they started playing as a group regularly.  Forced out of live music venues during the pandemic lockdown the group would meet on a weekly basis in the parks and streets of NYC to perform. Still without a live audience, in January of 2021 the band started their YouTube channel and have since built a worldwide audience with over four and half million views and 101k+ subscribers as of January 2025 through their viral video performances. The band’s artistic ethos is steeped in veneration of the rich lineage of jazz while demonstrating an acute awareness and presence in contemporary postmodernist sensibilities. Their online output reflects this characteristic balance, performing music created in solemn focus on swing, the blues, and improvisation, yet their approach in the modern art and media landscape comes with a measured irony.

UPCOMING PERFORMANCES

Wednesday, February 12, 2025 | 7:45pm
MICHAEL KAESHAMMER
A little gem of boogie-woogie, R&B, jazz, and pop. Kaeshammer’s silky vocals caress his impressive keyboard chops like a lover’s breath,” says Elmore Magazine. Michael Kaeshammer is an acclaimed Canadian virtuoso pianist and singer who has earned an international following as a triple threat – a technical master of many different moods, an eloquent singer-songwriter, and a charming and engaging performer. His signature style weaves classical, jazz, blues, boogie-woogie, stride, and pop into a rich and vibrant sonic tapestry. His tour of Turn It Up, Kaeshammer’s 15th album, is a dynamic and rollicking collection resistant to a single, catch-all genre.

Wednesday, March 12, 2025 | 7:45pm
WARREN WOLF QUINTET
Warren Wolf is a multi-instrumentalist. From the age of three years old, Warren has been trained on the Vibraphone/Marimba, Drums, and Piano. Warren is currently the drummer of choice for Alto Saxophonist Tia Fuller, who tours with internationally renowned pop star Beyonce Knowles. Warren is also a member of the Donal Fox Group which includes bassist John Lockwood and drummers Dafnis Preito and Terri Lyne Carrington.
“The paucity of jazz vibraphonists may be due in part to the complexity of mastering an instrument that’s like a hybrid of drums, percussion and piano. Notwithstanding, one of the instrument’s brightest stars is Baltimore native Warren Wolf.”  - All About Jazz

Wednesday, April 16, 2025 | 7:45pm
TONY DeSARE TRIO
Sinatra & Beyond
Tony DeSare performs with infectious joy, wry playfulness, and robust musicality. Named “Rising Star Male Vocalist” in Downbeat magazine, DeSare has lived up to this distinction by winning critical and popular acclaim for his concert performances throughout North America and abroad.  He is an accomplished award-winning composer and his sound is romantic, swinging, and sensual.  What sets DeSare apart is his ability to write original material that sounds fresh and contemporary, yet pays homage to the Great American Songbook. Tony is a GCJS favorite!

Wednesday, May 14, 2025 | 7:45pm
LUCIANA SOUZA TRIO
“Her voice traces a landscape of emotion that knows no boundaries.” Entertainment Weekly Grammy® winner Luciana Souza is one of Jazz’s leading singers and interpreters. Souza’s singing has been called “transcendental, “perfect, “and of unparalleled beauty.”  Her work as a performer transcends traditional musical boundaries, offering solid roots in jazz, sophisticated world music, and an enlightened approach to new music. She has performed and recorded with greats including Herbie Hancock, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Bobby McFerrin, Maria Schneider, Danilo Perez, and many others. Her longstanding duo work with Brazilian guitarist Romero Lubambo has earned her accolades across the globe.
