General admission $15. NCFBS members $10.

Catch a special bonus performance by the Bill "Sauce Boss" Wharton before he heads to Memphis to represent the North Central Florida Blues Society at the International Blues Challenge this January! Completing this double feature, Dr Jules' Cool Blues opens the show in this great listening venue. Don’t miss this chance to support local blues and enjoy great music! in great company!

The International Blues Challenge (IBC), organized annually by The Blues Foundation in Memphis, Tennessee, is a premier event celebrating blues music and fostering the growth of blues artists worldwide. This prestigious competition brings together blues bands and solo/duo acts representing affiliate blues societies from around the globe to compete for recognition and career-enhancing opportunities. Beyond the competition, artists benefit from unparalleled networking, industry exposure, and the chance to perform in iconic Beale Street venues. Participation in the IBC can significantly boost an artist's visibility, provide valuable feedback from industry experts, and open doors to bookings, collaborations, and lifelong connections within the blues community.

The Sauce Boss is a powerhouse entertainer, mixing his bluesy slide guitar and soulful voice into a high-energy show. His very own hot sauce goes into a big pot of gumbo while he spices up the show with his own Blues. He has served hundreds of thousands for free at his live shows. Sauce Boss mixes media like cornbread. Hot sauce, blues, chicken, funk, onions and okra, heartfelt songs, peppers and soul, seafood… and slide guitar, all go into the gumbo. The aroma fills the place. The crowd stirs up the pot. The Sauce Boss stirs up the crowd. It’s a soul-shouting picnic of Rock and Roll brotherhood, and at the end of the show, everyone eats.

Bill Wharton, (Sauce Boss), is the guy Jimmy Buffett sang about in his song "I Will Play for Gumbo." Wharton’s anthem, “Let the Big Dog Eat” is included on Buffett’s “Late Night Menu at the Margaritaville Cafe” album. Albert Castiglia released his cover of the tune, and it hit #1 on blues charts. "Let the Big Dog Eat" has also appeared in the movies, “Something Wild” (Jonathan Demme), and the Rock Doc, “Jimmy Carter Rock and Roll President.” This tune and sixteen other works in the documentary earned Wharton “‘Best Original Score” from the Los Angeles Film Awards.

Dr. Jules' Cool Blues Trio from Gainesville, FL, delivers a dynamic mix of traditional and contemporary blues, infused with jazz and soul influences that showcase their deep musical roots. Led by the charismatic and accomplished Dr. Jules, the group is known for its engaging performances that blend masterful guitar work, rich vocals provided by Marie Williams, and a in-the-pocket harmonica by Little David Thornton. Their repertoire spans soulful originals and classic blues covers, offering audiences an authentic and memorable live music experience. Dr. Jules' Cool Blues Trio has become a fixture in Florida's music scene, earning acclaim for their talent and passion for the blues.
