It’s a swinging guitar extravaganza. Guitarists Nate Najar, Carl Amundson and Dominic Walker are joined by bassist Joe Porter and drummer Jean Bolduc with a program of swinging big band, burning bebop, greasy blues and all points in between. Featuring repertoire from Duke Ellington, Thad Jones, Django Reinhardt and more, virtuosic technique, dynamic improvisation and Amundson’s unique writing make for an unforgettable show.
Guitarist Nate Najar is making it known world-wide that he is one of this decade’s finest modern jazz exponents, and not by saying it, but rather playing it. He uses a distinctive technique to convey his artistic prowess - not many artists play acoustic classical guitar with right hand classical technique, yet it is the perfect choice for Najar’s comprehensive approach. Not restricted to single notes or chords, Nate seamlessly weaves melody, harmony and rhythmic freedom. The result is music that is swinging, emotional, inventive and interesting.
