Gilmar Gomes brings together a very special group of musicians, each one of them is unique in their own
way – their stories, their music, their style and the way they vibe with Miami. Together on stage they
create a magical synergy and play in their own harmony as if there is no audience – intimately and
transparently. Gomes is creating a very own COLLECTIVE experience for everyone on stage and for the
public - locals and tourists - to represent a new wave of live & vibrant music. With Palapa being the venue
for this event, The Gilmar Gomes Collective is welcoming you to become a part of a COLLECTIVE JOY with
Brazilian sounds in an unforgettable atmosphere of eclectic vibes.
Gilmar Gomes - Percussions/drums/vocal
Born in Brazil, traveled and toured the world, loves and lives in Miami.
Gilmar Gomes is a world-renowned Brazilian percussionist, singer-songwriter, international recording artist,
producer, and Visual Artist. Gilmar has been a member of Enrique Iglesias’ touring and recording band since
2001 taking crucial role in the popstar’s live performances and albums. Gomes has also toured and recorded
extensively with wide-ranging artists and bands in the likes of Harry Belafonte, Shakira, Rihanna, Meshell
Ndegeocello, Richard Bona, Jovanotti, Gilberto Gil, Daniela Mercury, Angelique Kidjo, Esperanza Spalding, and
Yerba Buena.
Munir Hossn – guitar, bass and other cool stuff
Born in Brazil, traveled and toured the world, loves and lives in Miami.
Munir Hossn is a producer, composer and multi-instrumentalist. Being a mixture of Africans, Europeans,
Arabians, and Brazilian-indigenous people makes him one of the most original and authentic artists of his
country and the world.
Hossn has collaborated, produced, and shared projects with artists like Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Quincy Jones
and The Global Gumbo All Stars feat. Alfredo Rodriguez, Didier Lockwood, Paco Sery, Concha Buika, Hermeto
Pascoal, Richard Bona, Roberto Mendes, and many more.
Magela Herrera – flute, vocal
Born in Cuba, played in Latin America, Europe and the US, loves and lives in Miami.
Magela Herrera, flutist, vocalist, composer and recording artist grew up between her family’s deep ties to a
large set of unique traditions influenced mostly by Afro Cuban music; she spent learning and studying
classical music at the Conservatory of Music in her native Havana. Through the years, Herrera has shared the
stage with an extensive list of acclaimed international artists including Chucho Valdez (Cuba), Jan Eggum
(Norway), Oslo Chamber Orchestra (Norway), Sanskriti Shrestha (Nepal).
Yissy García – drums/percussions
Born in Cuba, played in Latin America and the US, loves and lives in Miami.
Yissy García, composer and drummer, is one of the most powerful artists of the new generation of Cuban
musicians. Considered one of Cuba’s most dynamic and innovative artists, she demonstrates the art of
combining traps and percussion, drawing from the wealth of Cuban folkloric and popular styles alongside jazz
and funk. She’s performed with big names like Esperanza Spalding and Dave Matthews. Her band,
Bandancha, weaves contemporary jazz with traditional Cuban elements.
Han Beyli – bass, vocal
Born in Ukraine, traveled and toured the world, loves and lives in Miami.
Born and raised in Ukraine and heavily influenced by his Azerbaijan heritage, Han transcends the boundaries of
style with a unique approach that incorporates Mugham from Azerbaijan. He has performed with renowned artists
such as Jack De Johnette, John Medeski, Enver Izmaylov, Erkan Ogur. He has headlined major festivals in Europe,
Turkey, Russia and United States. Han has been offered a presidential scholarship to attend Berklee College of
Music in 2015 and this was the beginning of his journey to the US.
