Blue Tavern in Tallahassee - Save the Date for May 19th Backyard Blues

The Room Full of People
Spills Out Into The Parking Lot!

After a year and a half in business, Blue Tavern is set to host its first blues festival. Backyard Blues will be an all-day, all-ages event, rain or shine with indoor and outdoor stages. An outdoor stage will be in the alley/green space behind the building, accessible from 5th Avenue. Music starts at 3 pm on Saturday, May 19, and lasts til after midnight.

Those who are acquainted with Blue Tavern know the venue hosts a multitude of music styles and genres, but the first love of the owner, Maggie McKeown [pronounce mik-KEW-en] is down home blues. The purpose of the festival is to promote blues music in the community, but mainly to have fun and provide an event for everyone to enjoy.

The lineup includes Sir Charles Atkins & his New Blue Band, Avis Berry, Brett Wellman & Chris Balding, Darryl Steele and friends, Belmont & Jones, Jon Copps, Frank Lindamood, Caleb Vaughn, and Gainesville’s favorite blues outfit – the Bridget Kelly Band.

The Tavern's kitchen will be open all day, and outside food vendors will be on hand to supplement the regular fare. Beer, wine, coffee, tea, and sodas are available inside. No coolers, please – but lawn chairs are encouraged.

Parking is available in lots nearby and on several side streets. Look for the blue-and-white signs! There is a bike rack for those wishing to pedal their way to the festival.

Tickets are available for purchase at the Tavern and at MusicMasters, or on-line at bluetaverntallahassee.com. Advance tickets are $20, $25 at the gate.

AND, PLENTY OF REGULAR
PROGRAMMING!
