The Community Arts Program (CAP) 2024 Summer Concert Series continues 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 11 with the Peter & Will Anderson Trio. Two of the most extraordinary jazz saxophone players today! With pianist Rossano Sportiello, the Anderson twin brothers bring a stunning evening of classic jazz! You dudes are the future. You have made my soul smile!”Quincy Jones

Since 1985, the Community Arts Program (CAP) Summer Concert Series has been attended by more than 70,000 concertgoers. It is a time-honored tradition that continued with virtual broadcasts to the world throughout the pandemic summers of 2020 and 2021, and gathered an average of 7,500 views each summer. This developed an extended audience that CAP is excited to welcome on-ground again in the summer of 2024! Throughout the school year, the Community Arts Program (CAP) also provides after-school music education with the CAP Conservatory for the Arts and its Miami Jazz Institute. These reach children and youth from over 53 Miami-Dade County Schools, no matter what students’ circumstance or ability.

Sunshine Jazz Organization's monthly series, "1st Fridays Live at The Lyric" presents "VIBEAT" at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater Cultural Arts Complex in Miami.

VIBEAT cleverly flows between genres, and pushes the boundaries of jazz, beats, and synth-music to create sounds all their own. Their release “VIBEATEP” is the culmination of influences and experiences brought on by Terence Blanchard, Stephen Scott, Weather Report, Now Vs Now, Mark Guiliana’s BEATMUSIC, and Steps Ahead. VIBEAT founder and vibraphonist Nathan Skinner attended the University of Miami and studied with Terence Blanchard, Shelly Berg, Martin Bejerano and the legendary Gary Burton. He has performed at the Amelia Island Jazz Festival, Monetary Jazz Festival, UCF Jazz Festival, and New Orleans Jazz Festival. He has also preformed with the Florida Wind Symphony and the Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps. In addition to performing, Nathan composes/produces music for Big Bands, Marching Bands, Video/Arcade Games, and Electronic/Dance/Hip-Hop Music projects, and also gives clinics and workshops at Schools and Universities across the country.

General seating TICKETS are $30, VIP TICKETS are $40 and are available online and at the door.

Sunshine Jazz also provides a jazz musicians' referral service, produces concert tours, commissions jazz recordings, publishes the monthly newsletter, The Sunshine Jazz Messenger, and is the established Florida link for jazz societies internationally.

Broadway’s Jersey Boy is a celebration of classic hits from the ‘50s and ‘60s presented in the authentic acoustic style of original rock ‘n’ roll, Doo-Wop and R&B standards. John Lloyd Young is renowned for his Tony and Grammy Award-winning portrayal of Frankie Valli in Broadway's Jersey Boys and the Clint Eastwood-directed film adaptation. His show, "John Lloyd Young: Broadway’s Jersey Boy," pays homage to ‘50s and ‘60s classics in authentic acoustic style, featuring hits like “Sherry” and “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You,” along with tracks from his acclaimed album “My Turn.”

Take a musical journey of clever and insightful arrangements with Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band, an 18-piece jazz band that celebrates the best of big band tradition while presenting a modern and unique sound. Gordon L. Goodwin is an American pianist, saxophonist, composer, arranger, and conductor. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and Daytime Emmy Awards and has received over twenty Grammy nominations for his compositions and arrangements.
