JAZZ ENSEMBLE
Bill Mays, a featured artist in the December issue of
Jazz & Blues Florida,
brings his fun and fanciful jazz arrangements of holiday music to give us a little holiday cheer this season. “Mays was a commanding presence at the piano, rolling through lines that raised echoes of Earl Hines and Duke Ellington” said John Wilson, New York Times. He is “one of the masters of color and touch among today’s pianists...” raves Doug Ramsey of JazzTimes.
Accompanying Mays are local talents Jamie Ousley, on bass, John Yarling on drums, Mark Marineau on keyboard and the versatile John Michalak on flute and saxophone. Together, they form a dynamic musical cast, showcasing the diverse and rich tapestry of our “Arts' Coast’s” thriving scene.

In addition to being a bandleader and solo performer, Pizzarelli has been a special guest on recordings for major pop names such as Natalie Cole, Kristin Chenoweth, Tom Wopat, Rickie Lee Jones and Dave Van Ronk, as well as leading jazz artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Ruby Braff, Johnny Frigo, Buddy DeFranco, Harry Allen and, of course, his father Bucky Pizzarelli.
