Lisa Kelly - (Camp Director and Vocals) Eight-time Downbeat Magazine award winning vocalist, composer, arranger, Lisa is regarded among today's true jazz vocal song stylists, performing regionally to internationally in jazz clubs, for jazz societies, major venues and festivals, including the Kennedy Center, Vienna State Opera House, the Van Wezel, the Montreux, North Sea, and Pescara Jazz Festival. She has been the featured vocalist with the Larry Elgart Orchestra, St. Johns River City Band, UNF JE 1, and appeared with Arturo Sandoval, Danny Gottlieb, Jane Monheit, and Ed Calle. With a B.M and M.M. in jazz studies from UNF, Lisa has taught music theory and vocal jazz at LaVilla Middle and Douglas Anderson High SOTA, interim at UNF, has been a popular artist/clinician for music programs, and maintained a private vocal studio. Donald Zentz -
(Music Director, Reeds, Vanguard Band) Dir. of Jazz Studies at Douglas Anderson
High SOTA, Don directs the jazz bands, other ensembles, teaches saxophone and
other music courses. A prior director of Fine & Performing Arts for 12
years at Bolles School, music professor at Valdosta State University, FCCJ, and
UNF, a middle and high school band director in Ga and FL, Don and his bands
have won consecutive superior ratings and recognitions. A much in demand music
educator, clinician, adjudicator, guest band directors, he is a "go
to" source in jazz, concert band, and all things music education. Don has
published numerous articles and served high offices in regarded music
organizations. A Keilwerth Saxophone Signature Artist since 1995, he performs
in the Jacksonville Symphony, in off-Broadway shows and musicals, and with
popular groups. A past director of the St. Johns River City jazz and brass
bands, he has played on many bands with major artists. He is the 2017

Jim Daniel (Camp Coordinator, Blue Note Band) Director at The Covenant School of Jacksonville, Jim is a widely respected musical pedagogue, among a rare breed of music educators. With thirty-five years of mentoring in Jacksonville, Florida, he has taught at Jacksonville University, Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, as a founding teacher for Landon Middle School of the Arts and LaVilla School of the Arts, KIPP Impact Middle School, First Baptist Academy, and as the founding director of The First Coast Community Music School. Many of his students have gone on to major careers in music. Jim is also an active performing trumpet artist.
Jeff Phillips
(Piano, Rhythm) A much in demand accompanist and artist/clinician, Jeff serves
as adjunct faculty for Harrison High SOTA and Polk State College, and teaches
piano privately. A former staff pianist for Walt Disney World Theme Parks at
the Grand Floridian, he was a member of the Rhythm Rascals, Bill Allred and the
Hollywood Hit Men, and Bill Allred's Classic Jazz Band. He has appeared with
countless notables, including Clark Terry, Buddy DeFranco, Bob Draga, Allan
Vache, and the Midiri Brothers. He has performed in clubs and for jazz
societies and festivals around the country to internationally, appearing on
many recordings, TV, and radio programs. Expert on piano, organ, and tuba, Jeff
created a signature approach to playing piano and foot pedal bass. Presenting
clinics, adjudicating, and serving on jazz camp faculties, Jeff has written
All-State audition materials and mentored award-winning students.
