FROM WZVN:
COUNTY: Steady rain kept thousands of music fans away from the River and Blues Festival in downtown Fort Myers.
An annual charity fundraiser which attracted more than 3,000 fans in 2009 brought only dozens of die-hards Sunday.
The concert profits go to Community Cooperative Ministries' soup kitchen in Fort Myers.
Concert organizers say they pretty much broke even which means it will have to be rescheduled.
"You can have all the meetings you want and control all the things you want to control, but the man upstairs deals with weather," said band organizer Dennis 'Doc' Booth.
"You can hear the music. There's cover in case it pours. It's just part of living in Florida," said vendor Jason Kohn before the decision to suspend the show. "You take that risk any time you participate in an outdoor event."
