Jazz & Blues Florida Begins World-wide Promotion Campaign as COVID Declines and Florida Tourism Rises

Jazz & Blues Florida LLC (JBF), Florida's online guide to live jazz and blues, has been busy building their base nationally… and internationally. With sixteen years of experience and more than 21,000 social media followers/contacts, and over 2 million blog views testify to their coverage of the scene and they are ready to come out of the pandemic healthier than ever.

In 2019 more than 131 million visitors came to Florida, with over 15 million of them from other countries, and that number will be reached again and surpassed as COVID either declines or becomes the norm with behavioral changes. Jazz & Blues Florida approached the pandemic disruption as an opportunity to create new connections and establish awareness of our service as pent-up demand for Florida fun and sun drives more visitors, and their money, south in the winter.

The summer was spent attending fifteen-plus music festivals and events across the upper Midwest, doing on-site promotion of Jazz & Blues Florida. Thousands of promo cards were distributed directly to people who travel and attend music events. Building on that, November kicked off the major campaign across multiple platforms.

JBF now has ads running in the premier international jazz publication (DownBeat) and the oldest and most comprehensive New York jazz guide (Hot House New York, which also has world-wide distribution both in print and online), website sponsorships presence on aggregate streaming stations (The Phoenix Radio, Kansas City Online Radio), upcoming festival presence both onsite and online (Blues CafĂ© of Wisconsin and Central Iowa’s Winter Blues Fest), using both direct email and online promotion services of the largest international information directory (Jazz Clubs Worldwide) and on the websites and in the newsletters of seven of the largest and most active jazz and blues societies across the eastern U.S. and into Canada. In conjunction with VISIT FLORIDA there are rack cards in all five Florida Welcome Centers, and JBF is on their online list of visitor resources.  More opportunities are being researched and implemented as the year draws to a close.*

In basic terms, Florida's only jazz and blues niche marketing platform is working on growing our connections with Florida visitors and potential visitors BEFORE they leave home, while continuing online and on-site promotion across Florida. This program will also increase the perception of Florida as a live music destination. Events, venues and artists would find this type of targeted outreach far too costly in terms of money and time. Additionally, without the long-term experience JBF has, results and ROI would certainly be decreased.

This is not a plan – this is an active campaign that is already showing results with increased traffic across their five-part platform of social media, news blog, email subscription service, website listings and monthly magazine.

With this in mind JBF requests your consideration of their services to promote your shows, concerts and concert series, tours, festivals, new music releases and other genre-related content that would be of interest to their readership. 

Music is coming back, and Jazz & Blues Florida is already there.
