Time Change is a live studio recording.  Seven people in one room, ​no  overdubs.  Vocals and everything are live and old school.  As Mike says, “I wanted to record these songs as we played them for the first time. I wanted to capture that SOUND and FEEL that takes me back to the artists I learned from. The power of Otis Redding's voice and the funky grooves of Grant Green's blue note records; Muddy Waters, Ray Charles to James Brown & Donny Hathaway is all the BLUES to me.

After we listened to the play back, it was everything I was trying to capture...MAGIC.”

Time Change, just re-released on the Lakehouse Records label, is Mike’s most focused outing to date. Its seven contemporary soul blues cuts run as far south as Stax and as far north as Motown, with Memphis horns and roots reggae swagger in the mix. The messages in the lyrics are from the heart and reflect a positive and timely message to which everyone can relate.
