Growing up in a Bahamian musical family, Troy Anderson discovered his love for the trumpet at an early age. His musical journey took him from Florida’s drum and bugle corps to jazz performances across Europe and the U.S. While stationed in Germany as a paratrooper, Anderson was challenged to perform an entire set of Louis Armstrong’s greatest hits. This challenge would define his career.
After overcoming a devastating accident that doctors said would end his ability to play, Anderson defied the odds and emerged stronger, bringing Armstrong’s timeless music to new generations.
Anderson’s accolades include the 20th Annual Reel Awards Classic Crooner Award as Louis Armstrong, the Golden Washboard award and CIC’s first place Tribute Artist award as Louis Armstrong.
