Concert Season at New Tampa PAC
Opening Night
Jeremy Carter
— “Up All Night”
Tampa Jazz Club opens the New Tampa Jazz Nights series with tenor saxophonist Jeremy Carter in a night-themed program, “Up All Night.” Carter, a Nebraska native who relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 2001, has built a strong regional profile as a bandleader and composer. Recent seasons have included projects at St. Petersburg’s Palladium such as Soul of Jazz and My Favorite Things, along with an ongoing association at the venue. His background includes collaborations and touring work with artists like Tony Monaco and Los Pericos, as well as projects spanning contemporary jazz and fusion. He also notes prior service as a U.S. Navy veteran.
For this concert, Carter is joined by Bay Area favorites James Suggs (trumpet), Alejandro Arenas (bass), Patrick Bettison (keyboards), and Rod Alnord (drums). This ensemble—often heard with Carter on regional stages—brings a dynamic blend of creativity and energy to launch the series.
