On October 30, 2026, BYNK Records will release Sugarfoot Stomp by The Candy Shop Boys, the New York band heard and seen in the film John Wick, with Fort Lauderdale native Matt Parker on tenor saxophone.
The record gathers twenty-one songs from a century of coded American music, from King Oliver and Cab Calloway to Irving Berlin: songs that slipped stories of sex, drugs and trouble past the censors of their day. The band played them for years in New York's burlesque rooms, recorded them in 2013, and the sessions sat on a hard drive until now. Dr. Reggie Quinerly wrote the liner notes.
Parker grew up in South Florida, where his mentor Jimmy Cavallo first invited him on stage at age 14 at P.J. Doogie’s. After more than twenty years as a working saxophonist in New York, he's planning regular trips back to South Florida to perform.
