Award-winning vocalist
CeCe Teneal invites audiences on a powerful musical journey in
DIVAS OF SOUL, a concert experience celebrating five decades of iconic music by some of the most influential female voices in popular music history. From the elegance of Motown and the grit of Southern soul to the fire of funk and the emotion of contemporary R&B, the program traces a lineage of songs that shaped generations.
With commanding stage presence and remarkable vocal range, Teneal brings fresh perspective and deep respect to classics such as “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and “R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” honoring the artistry and cultural impact behind each performance. Her interpretations reflect not imitation, but understanding—capturing the spirit, strength, and storytelling that made these recordings endure.
The concert features music made famous by Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Chaka Khan, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston, and more, woven together with insight and intention. DIVAS OF SOUL is both a celebration and a reminder of the enduring power of great songs, great voices, and the women who defined them.
CeCe Teneal is an award-winning vocalist and songwriter whose career spans national touring, recording, and high-profile concert performances. A multiple Independent Blues Award and Josie Music Award winner, Teneal has earned recognition for both her vocal power and artistic range, performing at major performing arts centers, festivals, and concert series across the United States. Based in Florida, she is a familiar and respected presence on the state’s jazz, soul, and R&B stages, where her work continues to resonate with audiences who appreciate classic repertoire presented with contemporary authority and authenticity.
