Mo Morgen Makes Impassioned Plea To Jazz Community For Supporting The Arts At The Ballot Box

ATTENTION:

 REPUBLICAN ARTISTS, MUSICIANS, 

PERFORMERS, ACTORS, COMPOSERS, 

AND THEIR FANS!

WHY YOU MUST 

VOTE DEMOCRAT

 THIS ONE TIME —

FOR THE SAKE OF THE ARTS 

AND YOUR SELF-INTEREST!

Do you realize that most of the public funding for the arts would be severely reduced or eliminated under a Republican administration led by Donald Trump? Beyond that, Trump has vowed to take revenge against his critics, and most artists and performers have been among those who have expressed critical views. This could lead to the closure of venues, media outlets, and punitive actions against groups and individuals. 

If you admire Trump’s candor, you can’t say that he now doesn’t mean what he says. He means it. 

Additionally, the mass deportation of undocumented immigrants could cripple many small venues—restaurants, bars, coffee houses, and other performance spaces—many of which rely on immigrant labor to stay in business. Their loss would result in fewer places to perform and enjoy live art.

That’s why it’s crucial for all Republicans, as well as Democrats, independents, and undecideds involved in or supportive of the arts, to vote Democrat—if only this one time! Protect the future of the arts and your livelihood as an artist.
