The North Central Florida Blues Society is excited to bring Toots Lorraine & The Traffic to Gainesville for the first time! This powerhouse group is led by the husband-and-wife duo of Toots Lorraine and guitarist Chad Dant, who share a deep dedication to preserving the heart and soul of the Blues.

Toots Lorraine’s rich, velvety vocals ride effortlessly atop the band’s vintage grooves, drawing inspiration from the classic blues of Big Mama Thornton, Howlin’ Wolf, and Big Joe Turner, while delivering bold new originals that sound like Memphis Minnie gems you’ve never heard before. Their sound blends old-school West Coast Jump Blues and Swing with gut-bucket soul that’s both authentic and energizing.

The band features the outstanding piano stylings of Jim McKaba, known for his work with Little Mike & the Tornadoes and the Josh Miller Blues Revue. With upright bass, hollow body guitars, harmonicas, pianos, organs, and dripping reverb, this train doesn’t stop until the last note. Once aboard, you’ll be saying, “I ain’t getting off this train.”

Opening the show is the Root Redemption DuoAlan Yeatter and Gus Olmos — a Delta- and Chicago-inspired blues act that has twice represented North Central Florida at the International Blues Challenge. Their high-energy acoustic set includes timeless standards and compelling original songs that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the classics.

Don’t miss this night of unforgettable live Blues at one of Gainesville’s most beloved listening rooms!
