Award-winning vocalist CeCe Teneal invites audiences on a powerful musical journey in DIVAS OF SOUL, a concert experience celebrating five decades of iconic music by some of the most influential female voices in popular music history. From the elegance of Motown and the grit of Southern soul to the fire of funk and the emotion of contemporary R&B, the program traces a lineage of songs that shaped generations.

With commanding stage presence and remarkable vocal range, Teneal brings fresh perspective and deep respect to classics such as “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “River Deep, Mountain High,” and “R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” honoring the artistry and cultural impact behind each performance. The next Tampa Jazz Club concert at HC’s Mainstage Theatre in Ybor City will spotlight a compelling new collaboration, The Arenas, Lasky & Nash Project, presenting The Bacharach Book—a thoughtful and contemporary exploration of the enduring song catalog of Burt Bacharach. The performance will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM, as part of the HCC Visual & Performing Arts Series.

The Bacharach Book has already drawn strong audience response at several Florida venues, including the Suncoast Jazz Festival. Rather than replicating original arrangements, the project reimagines Bacharach’s compositions through a modern jazz lens, highlighting their sophisticated harmony, lyrical depth, and timeless melodic appeal.

The trio came together in 2025 after discovering a shared musical sensibility and mutual respect for Bacharach’s work. Vocalist Allison Nash is known for expressive phrasing and close attention to lyric. Bassist Alejandro Arenas provides a grounded yet fluid foundation, blending rhythmic precision with melodic insight. Pianist Simon Lasky anchors the group with thoughtful arrangements that bridge classic songwriting and contemporary jazz expression.

In addition to selections from the Bacharach repertoire, the program also includes jazz standards and original compositions, offering listeners a well-rounded afternoon of music that reflects both tradition and creative exploration.

This concert offers audiences an opportunity to experience three of the Tampa Bay area’s respected musicians in a collaborative setting that celebrates one of America’s most influential composers. The Bacharach Book will be presented Sunday, February 1, 2026, at HC’s Mainstage Theatre in Ybor City, continuing Tampa Jazz Club’s commitment to presenting distinctive and artist-driven performances.
