The Casselberry Craft Beers & Blues 2-Day Festival will feature the best in world of blues playing some of their biggest hits and jam together various times over the two days in Lake Concord Park. It will be a spectacle like no other seen in Central Florida. Blues fans from all over the US are coming in to be a part of this amazing event.  Below are some of the powerhouse blues performers who will be performing:

Joe Louis Walker, a Blues Hall of Fame inductee and four-time Blues Music Award winner celebrates a career that exceeds a half a century. His new album “Everybody Wants A Piece” cements his legacy as a prolific torchbearer for the blues.  Born on December 25, 1949 in San Francisco, at age 14, he took up the guitar. Just two years later, he was a known quantity on the Bay Area music scene, playing blues with an occasional foray into psychedelic rock. For a while, he roomed with Mike Bloomfield, who introduced him to Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead.  Many of his albums feature Walker’s collaborations with a diverse group of first-rate artists including Branford Marsalis, Tower of Power, Bonnie Raitt, Taj Mahal, Ike Turner and Clarence “Gatemouth” Brown.  A true powerhouse guitar virtuoso, unique singer and prolific songwriter, he has toured extensively throughout his career, performed at the world’s most renowned music festivals, and earned a legion of dedicated fans for being one of the leading bluesman on the scene.

Mike Zito may be one of the most lauded artists in the contemporary blues arena today. He began playing guitar at the age of five, and by the time he reached his late teens, he was already a fixture on the local St. Louis music scene. “Pearl River,” the title track of his 2009 album for the label, won Song of the Year at the Blues Music Awards and marked his first collaboration with Cyril Nevill, with whom he’d later work in the Royal Southern Brotherhood. From 2010 to 2014, Zito played an integral role in this supergroup known as Royal Southern Brotherhood featuring Cyril Neville (one of the 3 Neville Brothers), Devon Alman (son of Greg Allman), Charlie Wooton (world renowned Bassist) and Yonrico Scott (Grammy-award winning drummer for Derek and the Trucks). The group released two albums and a DVD, Songs from the Road - Live in Germany, winner of the year’s Blues Music Award for Best DVD. Since then, the accolades keep coming. His album Make Blues Not War debuted on the Billboard Blues Album Chart at number one and garnered him recognition as the 2018 Rock Blues Artist of the Year at the Blues Music Awards. Last year’s First Class Life followed suit, also entering the charts at number one.  He continues to stay true to his message with great honesty, integrity and authenticity.

The Nighthawks are an American blues and roots music band, based in Washington, D.C. The Nighthawks are Mark Wenner (vocals and harmonica), Paul Bell (lead guitar), Johnny Castle (bass guitar), and Mark Stutso (drums). The Nighthawks won the Traditional Blues/R&B Duo/Group Award at the 2009 Washington Area Music Awards. In 2011, their album, “Last Train to Bluesville” won the Acoustic Album of the Year at the 32nd Blues Music Awards, sponsored by the Blues Foundation.

Albert Castiglia has a vocal style that gets compared to Van Morrison, while being a blues singer, songwriter and guitarist who has worked with many of the blues greats such as Junior Wells (Godfather of Blues), Sandra Hill, and the Alligator Alley Allstars and has toured with ZZ Top and Elvin Bishop.  Considered by many to be an heir apparent to America’s newest King of the Blues, Castiglia continues to spread the true message of the blues.

David Julia is 18 years old and dead serious about the blues. He began performing at the age of 7, and over ensuing decade has grown into a blues powerhouse who is beginning to establish himself far beyond his Florida home.  David has been touring regionally and has already participated in the Memphis-based Blues Foundation’s International Blues Challenge four years in a row, drawing rave notices from the worldwide crowd. David titled his new album “Inspired,” because he’s very aware of the debt he owes to the musicians who have inspired him. Beyond the blues masters whose records he has learned from, he has been personally touched by the current generation of musicians who have come through his home state, taught, befriended and encouraged him, and helped him along the way.

The Paul Stott Group has been performing in Central Florida for more than 10 years and has lived the blues even longer.  Paul Stott grew up on the south side of Chicago and then moved to Jacksonville where he began playing southern rock and as his influence of the blues grew, he combined the two to form his own unique style. He has been recognized as one of the premier guitar players in the Central Florida area by winning the Guitar Center King of the Blues Challenge 2 years in a row, 2009-2010. Stott’s partner, Richard Plate, plays harmonica and injects soul into the blues.

Odds Lane is a uniquely blended mix of driving blues-rock riffs that fuses diverse influences from a wide range of styles but still maintains their own original soul that many compare to a modern Steely Dan. Founded by Doug Byrkit and Brian Zielie, this band has toured both nationally and internationally with various artists. One of their songs titled “Miles Away” has been featured on the hit television series The Deadliest Catch and The Discovery Channel.

The free event, sponsored by the City of Casselberry and Orange Blossom Blues Society, will be Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 16 and Nov. 17, 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Lake Concord Park in Casselberry, behind City Hall.
