Jazz Greats in Series in Avon Park - Partying with the Roots of 20's Jazz w/ The Original Salty Dogs

South Florida State College's
Jazz Series brings the world
of Jazz to Avon Park FL

February 11, 2016 ~ 7:00 p.m.
SFSC University Center Auditorium
The roots of the Salty Dogs dig deep to the early 
jazz musicians of the 1920s - Hoagy Carmichael, 
King Oliver, The New Orleans Rhythm Kings, 
Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbecke, 
Hitch's Happy Harmonists, and Louis Armstrong.

February 27, 2016 ~ 7:00 p.m.
SFSC University Center Auditorium
The group plays the 1930s-style music of 
guitarist Django Reinhardt -- foot-tappin' 
swing played on acoustic instruments.

March 10, 2016 ~ 7:00 p.m.
SFSC University Center Auditorium
Rebecca Kilgore regularly performs worldwide 
at jazz festivals, jazz parties, and on jazz cruises. 
She is a frequent guest on National Public Radio’s 
‘Fresh Air’ with Terry Gross, has appeared on
 ‘A Prairie Home Companion’, and with 
Michael Feinstein at Carnegie Hall.
