PERFORMANCES:

12pm – 1:00pm: Larry Garner
(Louisiana Blues)
As an International Blues Challenge Winner, Larry is a career bluesman renowned for his incredible songwriting, with extensive US European/worldwide club, concert and festival experience. A five-time Blues Music Award nominee, he was received wide recognition for his talent, including an induction into the Louisiana Blues Hall of Fame, and an honor by the BBC as its Bluesman of the Year.

“Larry Garner is perhaps the most talented blues songwriter alive today, one of the top five bluesmen on the planet” – Real Blues

1:30pm – 3:00pm Grand Marquis
(Kansas City Swing Blues)
As International Blues Challenge Finalists, the Grand Marquis play a distinct and hearty blend of American roots influences, including blues & prohibition-era jazz. They weave old stories in with new tales while delivering a classic, timeless speakeasy sound. Versatile and buoyant, unique and refreshing – they produce a rhythm cocktail served by masterful musical mixologists. Over the past 14 years they have logged more than 1800 performances, from Seattle to South Beach, and especially in their hometown of Kansas City.

“Completely infectious…it begs to be played loud, it begs to be danced to!” -Boston Blues Review

3:30pm – 5:00pm Zora Young w/
Little Mike & The Tornadoes (Chicago Blues)
Arguably the best female vocalist on the Chicago blues scene today, Zora is a multi-talented blues singer and an entertainer supreme- sassy, classy, sexy and witty. Stretching beyond the boundaries of traditional Chicago blues, Zora’s music is flavored with heavy doses of gospel, pop, country and soul. She has played with every major blues act of three generations there and around the world. At this performance, she’s backed by long-time performance partner, Little Mike & The Tornadoes.

5:30pm – 7:00pm Ghost Town Blues Band
(Memphis Blues)
Ghost Town Blues Band was a winner of the 2014 International Blues Challenge, as well as the European Independent Music Label Award for “Top Sound” in blues. Both Preston McEwen behind the drums and Alex Piazza on the bass guitar are a punishing rhythm section behind Matt Isbell with raunchy guitar licks and chainsaw rhythms. With the addition of horn players Coleman Garrett, Silky Smooth Suavo Jones and Jeremy Powell on keys, the grooves go from funky to funk-nasty as the band gains more notoriety in the international blues scene.

“Ghost Town Blues Band is quickly becoming the toast of the town, with a sound that blends the earthen fortitude of Mississippi hill country stomp, with the excitement of hot ‘n’ heavy electric Chicago blues, wrapped up in a funky package.
