Dear South Florida JAZZ members and followers,
Many of you have experienced inordinate difficulty buying
tickets to our shows this season. The issue lies squarely with Ticketmaster’s
unwieldy online process and an automated telephone option that suffers from
poor voice recognition software used to identify the name of the shows; and
then agents, if and when they intervene, who are not always helpful. This
leaves you - and us - exasperated! South Florida JAZZ, via the Rose &
Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, is contractually obligated to use the
Broward Center AutoNation box office. This season that operation was outsourced
to Ticketmaster. Our experience to date has been dreadful, but I have been
assured that the issues are being addressed and the
process eventually will be more buyer-friendly.
In the meantime, what should you do? If you are encountering
difficulty navigating the Ticketmaster system, I recommend that you plan on
arriving at the Miniaci Performing Arts Center a little earlier than usual
and BUY YOUR TICKETS AT *WILL-CALL. It is manned beginning at 6:00
p.m. the night of the show (only); and there is a very modest service charge.
As president of South Florida JAZZ, I will guarantee you a seat January 10th.
And remember, parking is FREE on the second and third garage levels courtesy of
South Florida JAZZ.
