Tomorrow evening's forecast is for clear skies and great music at Gainesville Jazz Festival!

Gainesville's annual evening of music excellence, FREE to the community,hosted by Gainesville Friends of Jazz.


This FREE festival begins on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at The Square at Tioga Town Center located at 105 SW 128th Street, Newberry, FL 32669, west of Gainesville, Florida. (MAP

Performing at the festival will be the Gary Langford EOS Big Band (7pm), Ulisses Rocha and Friends (8pm), Mindwalk (9pm), and Little Jake and the Soul Searchers (10pm).


Gary Langford and the EOS Big Band features Gary Langford, on flugelhorn, David Becker, on alto saxophone, Mike Summers, on alto saxophone, Ben Grier, on tenor saxophone, Paul Johnson, on tenor saxophone, Greg Snyder, on baritone saxophone, Kevin Dionne, on trombone, Kevin Hicks, on trombone, Geoff Spiegel, on trombone, Brian Stevens, on trombone Fred Green, on trumpet, Terry Moo, on trumpet, Doug Myers, on trumpet, Dan Neal, on trumpet, Scott Wilson, on trumpet, Chris Storey, on guitar, Jason Bontrager, on piano, Dave Hutchings, on bass, and Rob Pelick, on drums.

Ulisses Rocha and Friends features Ulisses Rocha, on guitar, Ali Che’Ree, on bass, Larry Crook, percussion, and Alexander Crook, on drums.

Mindwalk features Ricky Stano, on guitar, Ben Grier, tenor saxophone, Kevin Hicks, on trombone, Scott Wilson, on trumpet, Jacob Fjeldheim, on keyboards, Ali Che’Ree, on bass, and Clyde Connor, on drums.


Little Jake and the Soul Searchers features Jake Mitchell on vocals, Charlie Blade on saxophone, Clay Robinson on trumpet, Brian Stevens on trombone, Tran Whitly on organ, Charles Henry on guitar, Allen McCollum on bass, and Hal Saylor on drums and vocals.
