This weekend we are celebrating MARDI GRAS ! That's right... it's THAT time again... to HOOT and HOLLER... in the N'awlins style... And to help us celebrate, we are pleased to bring to the Earl's stage TWO well known Cajun' style groups, Earl's favorite "Sauce Boss" Bill Wharton as well as Louisiana homeboys, Big Al & the Heavyweights...

Florida native and slide guitar master (as well as master GUMBO chef) Bill Wharton is also a great story teller... He has been working the swamp blues since the early 70's when he walked outside one fine morning and found a National Resophonic in his front yard... as if sent down by the heavens. Now, he pushes his '53 Telecaster through his '48 Fender amp and creates the smokin'-est sounding blues that come straight from the roots of the Florida Cypress Swamp... AS HOT as his own HOT Sauce, "Sauce Boss" often transcends his own performance adding "new" flavors to his "GUMBO STEW", by singing his tamales off and even his solo set will leave you begging for more...

Wharton's fervor on the frets is like being in the eye of the storm, grinding, pushing and kicking butt... with an authentic sound that can not be duplicated! And that's just the band part! Bill ALSO cooks a BIG pot of GUMBO, right on stage during his performance... it is part of the show, of course, and everyone gets a dish for FREE ! (as long as you arrive early enough to grab a bowl!) at the end of the set... His soul shining picnic of Rock n' Roll Brotherhood is like a 4 wheel drive, non stop, high rollin' PARTY, as he keeps his slide, resonator and hot sauce REALLY HOT!
Also a great humanitarian, Bill Wharton and his dear wife Ruthie, also take his GUMBO on the road to homeless shelters and veteran's organizations all over the country... You can check them out on planetgumbo.org

Not to be outdone, our opening band will be BIG AL & the Heavyweights... Close old friends of the "Sauce Boss", AL & the Band are a unique infusion of Blues and N'awlins traditional Cajun' music... With a fan base of over 7,000 "Gumbo Heads", they tour over 200 days a year - coast to coast - and are favorites of both Dan Akroyd (House of Blues radio show) and famous Louisiana Chef Emeril LaGasse, and the band has appeared on both shows with frequency...

So, come on down and help us as we Celebrate MARDI GRAS with great Bravado... and the BEST in tunage and GUMBO! Wear your MG beads and masks... Don't be afraid to dress up crazy!! There is sure to be SOMETHING for EVERYONE!!

See you there... 'cuz... "You Can't Beat the FEELING at Earl's Hideaway"!

All sporting events available for viewing on our many TV's...
