 Brubeck Brothers Quartet
"If there is such a thing as 'born musicians' then surely
the sons of famed jazz pianist Dave Brubeck qualify."
The Courier-Journal

THE BRUBECK BROTHERS QUARTET (BBQ) is an exciting jazz group featuring two members of one of America's most accomplished musical families, Daniel Brubeck (drums) and Chris Brubeck (bass & trombone). Add to this heritage the fact that Chris and Dan's musical tastes were forged in the 60's, a stylistically innovative musical decade, and you have an exciting combination of musical elements to draw upon.

Since his first professional recordings at age 11, Dan Brubeck has developed into an awesome drummer who, to quote Jazz Times, "...will cause your mouth to drop when you hear him take off..." His innovative solo excursions on the drum set have inspired audiences to give standing ovations:  from The Hollywood Bowl to Carnegie Hall, Newport and other jazz festivals all over the world.  He has toured the international music circuit as the leader of his own group, The Dolphins, and with The Dave Brubeck Quartet.

Chris Brubeck, a multi-talented instrumentalist, has earned rave reviews on electric bass and bass trombone.  Chris is also a pianist and an award-winning composer/arranger.  Chris composed, arranged and is featured as a soloist on the Koch International Classics CD, Bach to Brubeck, with the London Symphony Orchestra, released in March 2000.  Chris won the 2003 Deems Taylor award for best composition for television broadcast for his Interplay for 3 Violins and Orchestra.  Chris was a member of The Dave Brubeck Quartet for 10 years and recorded over a dozen albums with that group.

Guitarist Mike DeMicco and pianist Chuck Lamb complete the dynamic BBQ.  Mike DeMicco has toured extensively worldwide since 1980.  For 10 years he performed and recorded with The Dolphins.  In addition to his work with the BBQ, Mike leads his own jazz group and has also recorded with Warren Bernhardt, Michael Franks and James & Livingston Taylor, among others. Chuck Lamb was the founding member of the group Dry Jack, with which he released two internationally acclaimed albums of his music & was cited in the Rolling Stone History of Music as "a powerful force in the direction of progressive jazz."

The BBQ's new Koch release, Classified, has already earned this rave review from All About Jazz: "Once again the BBQ attains that rarefied level where music is both relaxed and expressive, and their joy in its creation is contagious. There's really nothing out there that comes close to their unique brand of inventiveness."
